Canadian author Elle Kennedy's sports romance series Off-Campus is getting a TV adaptation from Prime Video. The series will follow Briar University's elite hockey team and the women in the players' lives, who navigate love, heartbreak, and self-discovery, build friendships, and come of age.

What We Know About the Off-Campus Adaptation
The first season will premiere in May 2026 on the streaming service Prime Video. News about the Off-Campus adaptation first came out in October 2024, when Amazon MGM Studios announced it was developing a series based on Elle Kennedy's books. The screenplay was written by Louisa Leaf, who served as showrunner alongside producer Gina Fattore.
The first season's cast includes Ella Bright as Hannah Wells and Belmont Cameli as hockey player Garrett Graham, along with Mika Abdalla, Antonio Cipriano, Jalen Thomas Brooks, Steven Krueger, and Josh Houston.
In February 2026, Amazon MGM Studios announced a second-season renewal even before the first season premiered. Amazon MGM Studios global television head Peter Friedlander explained the decision, citing confidence in the story's potential and the book series' popularity among readers.
Producers emphasized the emotional core of the story, which follows friendship, love, and coming of age among university students.
About the Book Series
The Off-Campus series consists of five books, which began coming out in 2015. The series includes the novels The Deal, The Mistake, The Score, The Goal, and the final book, The Legacy.
The first four novels tell separate love stories among players on the Briar University hockey team. The final book brings together all four couples and shows what happens after their college years end.
The book series gained popularity among readers on social media and the BookTok community. Book sales have surpassed three million copies since the first novel was released.
The First Season's Plot
The show's first season adapts The Deal, the novel that opens the Off-Campus series. The story follows the romance between quiet songwriter Hannah Wells, who hates hockey, and Briar University hockey star Garrett Graham. The plot develops the romance through an 'opposites attract' trope.
In the book, Hannah has feelings for another student and wants to catch his attention. Garrett, meanwhile, struggles academically, which threatens his hockey career at the university.
So Hannah agrees to help Garrett with his schoolwork as his tutor. Garrett, in turn, goes on fake dates with Hannah to help make the guy she likes jealous. But gradually, the dynamic between the two shifts and leads to real feelings.
The Show's Second Season
The second season will adapt The Mistake, which tells the story of another player on the hockey team. The book's plot centers on John Logan, a popular student and one of the team's best players.
While at school, the protagonist meets student Grace Ivers, but a bad decision during their first encounter derails any chance of a relationship between them. Grace returns to school after a difficult freshman year, and John tries to make up for his mistake and win back her trust.
The book's plot reveals his attempts to prove his feelings are genuine, while also showing his anxiety about the future after graduation. John Logan and Grace Ivers's story continues the theme of growing up and difficult life choices that runs through the whole book series.
