Over 100 Kids From Eight Ukrainian Regions: DOBRYNSKA NEXT Competition Recap
How the first DOBRYNSKA NEXT competition went.
Over 100 young athletes from eight regions of Ukraine took part in the nationwide track-and-field combined-events competition 'DOBRYNSKA NEXT,' organized by Olympic champion Nataliia Dobrynska. Event organizers told DeTalks about the competition.
The event took place May 23 in Vinnytsia, the hometown of the sport. The program included three combined-events disciplines: hurdles or flat sprint, long jump or high jump, and shot put.
Separate demonstration races were held for children under seven, along with a family speed competition for the athletes' parents.
The tournament featured six age categories for girls and boys — from the youngest participants, aged 7–8, to the 'youth' category (over 19).

Winners received medals, gifts, and prizes, including Adidas running shoes and cash rewards for the older medalists.
“It was important for me to create a space for kids where they can believe in themselves, feel supported, and fall in love with sport,” said competition organizer Nataliia Dobrynska.
“I think it's the kids' own emotions that light me up inside and motivate me to do more for them. The way they supported each other today, competed, and celebrated — that was amazing. Only sport can give you emotions like that. Track and field definitely has a great future ahead, and I truly believe in that,” the athlete added.
Nataliia also said DOBRYNSKA NEXT will become an annual tradition, expanding its reach and format each year.
DOBRYNSKA NEXT is a nationwide sports project by Olympic champion Nataliia Dobrynska, aimed at developing youth track and field, promoting combined events, and supporting young athletes in Ukraine.
