Oleksandr Bondarev Third in the Rookie Standings Ahead of Formula 4's Final Round: Round Recap
The round's third race was stopped due to rain.
Ukrainian driver Oleksandr Bondarev wrapped up the sixth round of the Italian Formula 4 season, held September 19–21 in Barcelona, Spain. Over the weekend, the Williams Driver Academy member climbed two spots in the rookie standings.
In parallel, Bondarev is competing in the E4 Championship, where he leads the rookie standings.

How Oleksandr Bondarev Fared at the Sixth Italian F4 Round
- In free practice, the Ukrainian finished 16th and 13th. Qualifying produced nearly identical results — 12th and 16th.
- At the start of the first race, Oleksandr made a pass to move up to 11th. But despite some tense moments near the end of the race, he couldn't climb any higher.
The Ukrainian finished the round's first race 11th, but for a move that pushed rival Teo Schropp off the track, the Prema Racing driver received a 10-second penalty, dropping him to 14th.
- The second race day began with heavy rain, which delayed the race. The race then started under safety car conditions due to the wet track. After the safety car period ended, Oleksandr lost two positions, dropping to 18th, but later gained three back. As a result, Bondarev finished the second race 15th.
- The final race lasted just 11 minutes before being stopped due to rain that swept over the track. In that time, the Ukrainian gained four positions to finish 12th. Organizers froze the drivers' positions at that point — giving Bondarev 12th overall and fourth among rookies.
As a result, after the Barcelona round, Bondarev has 54 points to his name and holds provisional 11th place in the drivers' standings. Among rookies, meanwhile, the Ukrainian sits third with 171 points.
