How the Youth Men's and Women's Mass Start 60 Went at the 2026 Junior World Biathlon Championships: Results

Team Ukraine took part in the youth men's and women's Mass Start 60 races at the Junior World Biathlon Championships, held in Arber, Germany. The top Ukrainian finisher was Alina Khmil, who finished the competition 13th.
Besides Khmil, Khrystyna Ruda and Sofiia Svystun also competed. Viktoriia Khvostenko started the race but withdrew. The youth men's team was represented by Taras Tarasiuk, Yaroslav Harkusha, Nazarii Savonik, and Kyrylo Kulchytskyi.
Earlier, in the junior women's (U21) mass start, Oleksandra Merkushyna won Ukraine's first gold of the 2026 Junior World Biathlon Championships.

How Team Ukraine Fared in the Youth Men's and Women's Mass Start 60 at the 2026 Junior World Biathlon Championships
Youth Men
- Taras Tarasiuk posted the best result among the Ukrainians in his race. He completed the course with two misses and finished 14th. With the same number of misses on the range, Yaroslav Harkusha finished 35th.
- Ukraine's other two representatives finished outside the scoring zone. Nazarii Savonik missed seven times and finished 53rd, while Kyrylo Kulchytskyi, with nine misses, finished 57th.
Youth Women
- Viktoriia Khvostenko started the race with bib number three. The Ukrainian led the pack from the start and picked up a penalty lap at the first shooting stage. But she didn't continue and withdrew from the race.
- Alina Khmil missed four times across the shooting stages, matching her result in every individual race of the championships. The biathlete finished 13th. Sofiia Svystun, with three misses, finished the mass start 34th, and Khrystyna Ruda, with two misses, finished 44th.
