How Oleksandr Bondarev Fared at the First Round of the 2026 Italian F4 Season

The Ukrainian holds provisional sixth place after the season's first weekend.

Ukrainian driver Oleksandr Bondarev started his Italian Formula 4 season — the championship's first round was held at the Misano circuit May 8–10. The Prema Racing driver earned 54 points and finished the weekend in provisional sixth place overall.

How the Misano Round Went for Oleksandr Bondarev

• The Ukrainian posted the second- and third-fastest times in practice, respectively. Qualifying went worse for Bondarev — the driver finished sixth in his heat and 11th overall. After that, drivers were split into three groups, each running two races; Oleksandr landed in Group B.

• In the first race, Oleksandr started seventh but gained four positions right at the start. After a penalty for the race winner, the Ukrainian moved up one more spot to finish second. So, in his very first race of the season, Bondarev reached the podium.

• The second race was set to start from eighth for the Prema driver, but a rival's penalty moved him up one position before the start. During the race itself, Oleksandr gained two more spots to finish fifth.

• Bondarev started the round's final race fourth but lost five positions over the course of it, finishing ninth. As a result, after the season's first weekend, the Ukrainian trails standings leader — Turkish rookie Alp Aksoy — by 28 points.
